Ocean Rowing Coach
Duncan is our ocean rowing coach.
He is proud Yorkshireman and former Royal Engineer in the British Army. Having rowed across the mid-Pacific, the Atlantic Ocean twice and circumnavigated Great Britain, he is an ocean rowing legend and all round good egg! His mission is to enable people to train safely, optimise their preparations, build resilience and thrive out on the ocean.
Tom is a fellow Ironman Athlete and Surveyor, former Navy Diving Officer AND was a crew member within Fortitude IV who took part in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge 2019. They not just took part, they absolutely smashed it, winning the race in 32 days 12 hours and 35 minutes.
Tom has experience under his belt both on the water and weather routing. He will be our sounding board whilst out in the Atlantic, advising us on weather, kit, strategy and ultimately our success during the crossing.
He is acting as our land based eyes and ears while we row.
Advisor & Mentor
Dawn is simply the best!
Yatchmaster, police boat skipper, RYA instructor and teacher, multiple Atlantic ocean rower and Pacific ocean rower! She is the leading lady of ocean rowing and outstanding human being! We have been fortunate enough to have Dawn on hand to mentor us during our training and guide us through all those "silly" questions relating to ocean rowing. But more importantly she has been our friend, supporter, cheer leader and advocate.
Nathan is new to ocean rowing, but this hasn't stopped him! He is a BTF level 3 triathlon coach and has worked with Grace Gilbert for 3 years coaching her to 3 ironman podium's and through to the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in 2022. He also coached the skipper of One Ocean Crew, Jen Collum.
He is a massive successful athlete in his own right having competed in the Ironman World Champs twice, represented Team GB and has over 20 long distance triathlons under his belt.
He has used his knowledge of endurance training and coaching, coupled with Jen's ocean rowing experience to lead Vibe the Wave to the start line in the best possible shape, physically and mentally.
